Play Golf In Central Scotland
Loch Lomond has become immortalised very quickly in world golf circles as a result of Tom Weiskopf's sensational lochside championship course now home to the Scottish Open Championship. Before you get carried away though, the course is playable by invitation only but the good news is that a second course is about to be built which will be open to visitors and promises to be equally spectacular.
Other superb golf, to suit all grades of golfer, surrounds the hotel - our particular favourites being Buchanan Castle , Bearsden and Strathendrick.
The Trossachs and nearby Breadalbane region, 'Rob Roy Country', has gained a much-deserved reputation for golf set in the finest scenic splendour, thanks to courses such as Callander, Aberfoyle, and Killin. With its backdrop of hills and forest, the ninth hole at Killin is said to be one of the most beautiful in Scotland , while at Aberfoyle you'll play under the magnificence of Ben Lomond .
Nearer Glasgow there are several splendid golf courses such as Cardross, Helensburgh and Dumbarton, overlooking the Firth of Clyde. The Vale of Leven Golf Club near Alexandria offers stunning views of Loch Lomond from the 16th tee.
